NAVIANCE FAMILY CONNECTION

The BRHS Guidance Department continues to use Naviance Family Connection, an online program that connects students and their families to the Guidance Office. Students learn to use the program in their freshman advisory blocks, completing age-appropriate tasks for post-secondary planning. The many tools available on Naviance include:

• Personality Type Inventory (based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)

• Career Interest Inventory (based on the Holland Code)

• Career Cluster Finder (with data from O*NET and Bureau of Labor Statistics)

• Resume Building Tool

• Four Year Course Planning Tool

• College Match Tools

• College Search Tools

• College Application Tools

• Scholarship Search Tools

• Online Surveys

• Career and College Tasks Assigned by Grade Level

Parents will also be able to access their child's Naviance account, much like they can do with PowerSchool.

Seniors will use this tool in conjunction with their Commonapp.org account to apply to colleges. The Guidance Office staff provide training for seniors on how to use Naviance for the college application process.
